Objectives of the D-Day Invasion for the 82nd and 101st Airborne

Here you can see just exactly where everyone was supposed to land. This map marks the objectives for the 82nd and 101st Airborne units including the glider units. As you can see the 82nd and 101st pushed passed the German lines of defense and moved inland. On this map you will see Baupte in the bottom left corner next to the legend, Baupte is in between Carentan, follow the Douve River south to the first large bend at the edge of the marshland, and la Haye du-Puits, not shown on this map, which would be on the other side of the map legend. Pont l'Abbe is directly in between Ste Mere-Eglise to the east and Sauveur to the west. The paratroops had to cover a lot of ground in the first few hours of the invasion in order to complete their objectives.
